Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible?

I, Roland Zahnd, Unterdorfstrasse 6, CH-4932 Lotzwil, Switzerland, am responsible for the processing of personal data associated with speakaka.ch. You can reach me at contact@speakaka.ch.

2. What data is processed?

You can browse my website without creating an account. If you send me a musical fusion idea, I receive the message and any name or email address you choose to include. If you use the separate contact form, your first and last name, email address and message are required so that I can read and reply to your enquiry. These details are voluntary and I use them to read your idea and, where appropriate, reply.

When you access the website, technical data such as IP address, time, requested pages and browser information may be processed in web-server logs for website operation, security and troubleshooting. My hosting is provided through Hosttech (Switzerland).

3. Form submissions and email

Ideas entered in the form are sent by email to contact@speakaka.ch. The form uses a hidden honeypot field and a minimum submission time to reduce automated spam. I do not display submitted messages publicly. Ideas may inspire future music; I cannot promise a reply or implementation.

The messages remain in my email mailbox until I delete them. I may retain useful musical ideas as part of my personal collection; if contact details are no longer needed, I aim to remove them. Messages addressed to contact@speakaka.ch are forwarded to my Gmail mailbox, operated by Google. The information you submit may therefore also be processed by Google, including outside Switzerland. I use these messages only to read your suggestions and, if you provide contact details, to respond when appropriate. I do not use your details for marketing.

Contact form: I use submitted details to respond to enquiries and retain them only as long as necessary for that purpose or applicable legal obligations. The same email forwarding and spam protection described above apply.

4. External music services

My website contains links to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and Amazon Music. These services are opened only when you click their links; I do not embed their music players. Their own privacy policies apply after you leave my website.

5. Cookies and analytics

I do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers on this website. Google Search Console helps me understand how my site appears in Google Search; it is not a visitor-tracking script embedded in the site. I use only the standard server statistics and technical logs provided through my Plesk hosting panel. I have not installed any additional statistics or tracking scripts. The hosting environment may record technical access data for security, troubleshooting and operational statistics; retention periods depend on the server configuration.

6. Storage and security

Form submissions are delivered to my email mailbox rather than stored in a separate website database. This does not mean no personal data is stored: email messages and hosting logs may contain personal data. I retain information only while it serves its purpose or while a legal obligation requires it. I use appropriate access controls and other reasonable security measures to protect my hosting and email accounts.

7. Your rights

Under applicable Swiss data protection law, you may request information about personal data relating to you and, where applicable, correction or deletion. Please contact me at contact@speakaka.ch. If you submit an idea anonymously, I may not be able to reliably identify your message later.

8. Changes
